The average water temperature of the Gangwon sea area was 17.3℃, the average water temperature of northern Gangwon was 18.6℃, the average water temperature of middle Gangwon was 16.8℃, and the average water temperature of southern Gangwon was 17.1℃. The water quality index of Gangwon was found to beⅠ~Ⅱ. The average salinity was 33.5 psu in the northern Gangwon sea area, and 33.6psu in the middle Gangwon and southern Gangwon sea areas respectively. In the case of dissolved oxygen DO, the overall average value was 8.8mg/L in the Gangwon, 9.0mg/L in the northern Gangwon, 8.9mg/L in the middle Gangwon, and 8.6mg/L in the southern Gangwon. In the northern Gangwon, 48 species, 38 species of Mulchi and 26 species of Gisamun appeared, and by taxonomic group, the red algae phylum appeared the most in Mulchi with 22 species. Next, in the phylum Mulchi, 9 species (23.7%) appeared, and seaweed showed the highest biomass at 997.60 g wet wt/㎡. In Middle Gangwon, 89 species, Sageonjin appeared the highest with 15 species. By taxonomic group, red algae numbered 33 to 42 species, with Sageonjin being the most abundant at 42 species. In the southern Gangwon, 65 species, 53 species of Donghae Cheongok and 43 species of Eodal were found, while 20 species of Galnam and 28 species of Sinnam in Samcheok were found. As a result of analyzing the similarity of the Gangwon, the seaweed species similarity was shown as follows: Group 1 contained Mulchi, Gisamun, and Galnam Group 2 contained small stones and Jumunjin and Group 3 contained Eodal, Sinnam, Cheongok, Sacheon, and Sageonjin. Northern Gangwon sea area showed a C/P value of Mulchi 0.6 and Gisamun 0.2, indicating that it is a sea area with characteristics of cold and temperate seaweed. The R/P value of Mulchi 2.3 and Gisamun 2.9 showed characteristics of cold and temperate seaweed. The (R+C)/P value of Mulchi 2.9 and Gisamun 5.0 showed characteristics of cold and temperate seaweed. In the middle Gangwon sea area, C/P value, R/P value, (R+C)/P value were shown as characteristics of cold and temperate seaweed in Sodol, Jumunjin, Sacheon, and Sageonjin, and in the southern Gangwon, C/P value, R/P value, (R+C)/P value were shown as characteristics of cold and temperate seaweed in Chungok, Galnam, and Simnam, and in Eodal, R/P value, (R+C)/P value were shown as characteristics of tropical seaweed. The functional groups in the Gangwon sea area were analyzed as 10 sea areas in the ESGⅡ group. In the northren of ​​Gangwon Province, 72 species of Mulchi appeared, 76 species of Gisamun appeared, and in the middle of ​​Gangwon Province, 105 species of Sageonjin appeared, which was the highest, followed by 103 species of Sodol, 98 species of Sacheon, and 89 species of jumunjin. In the southren Gangwon, Cheongok had the highest number of species with 101, followed by Eodal with 94 species, Samcheok, Sinnam with 82 species, and Galnam with 73 species. As a result of analyzing the similarity of Gangwon sea areas, group 1 included Mulchi, Gisamun, Galnam, and Sinnam group 2 included Jumunjin, Sacheon, and Sageonjin and group 3 included Sodol, Eodal, and Cheongok, showing similarity in benthos species.
