Objectives: The efficacy of the amount of sealer in the root canal and two retreatment NiTi file systems in removing filling materials from single-root canal filled with calcium silicate based-sealer was investigated. Materials and Methods: Forty extracted maxillary and mandibular premolars with a single root canal and moderate root curvature were selected for this study. After access opening and root canal preparation with the ProTaper Universal NiTi system up to size F4 (#40/.06), the specimens were randomly divided into four groups. Gutta percha (GP) tapers of .06 or .04 were used for each group and filled using a single-cone filling technique with CeraSeal, a calcium silicate–based sealer. Each group was retreated either using the ProTaper Universal Retreatment System (PTUR) or the Hyflex Remover (HR). The time taken to remove the filling material, the amounts of apically extruded debris, and canal cleanliness were measured and compared. Statistical analyses were performed using an independent t-test and two-way ANOVA with the Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U-test. The selected level of significance was 95%. Results: The amount of sealer did not affect the efficiency when the filling materials were removed from root canals filled with calcium silicate-based sealer. However, the filling material was removed faster in the HR group than in the PTUR group. The PTUR group showed relatively more apically extruded debris than the HR group, but it was not statistically significant. Moreover, two types of NiTi files showed similar retreatment effects in the degree of canal cleanliness after retreatment. Conclusion: The amount of calcium silicate based-sealer in canal filling had no significant effect on retreatability. Retreatment with HR removed filling materials is faster than PTUR when single root canal teeth are filled with the single-cone filling technique. There was no difference in other removal efficiencies according to the type of retreatment NiTi file. 연구 목적: 칼슘실리케이트 계열 실러로 충전한 근관의 재근관치료 시 근관 내 실러의 양과, 재치료용 NiTi 파일에 따른 근관 충전재의 제거 효율을 알아보고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법: 발거된 상하악 소구치 중 단일 근관과 적당한 치근 만곡을 가지는 치아 40개를 대상으로 하였다. ProTaper Universal system을 사용하여 통법에 따라 F4(#40/.06)까지 근관 형성을 한 후, 무작위로 4 그룹으로 분류하였다. 근관 내 실러의 양을 서로 다르게 하기 위해 그룹 별로 .06 taper 또는 .04 taper 거타퍼차를 칼슘실리케이트 실러인 Ceraseal과 함께 사용하여 single-cone 충전법으로 충전하였다. 그룹 별로 재치료용 NiTi 파일로는 ProTaper Universal Retreatment system(PTUR) 또는 Hyflex Remover(HR)를 사용하였다. 충전재 제거에 걸린 시간, 치근단 밖으로 방출된 잔사, 근관 내의 근관 충전재 잔존량을 측정하고 비교하였다. 통계 분석 방법으로는 95% 유의수준에서 independent t-test와 Two-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test와 Mann-Whitney U-test를 사용했다. 결과: 칼슘실리케이트 계열 실러로 충전한 근관의 재근관치료 시 실러의 양은 효율에 영향을 미치지 않았다. HR 그룹은 PTUR 그룹보다 빠르게 충전재를 제거하였다.
