With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution recently, the digital content market is also growing. Many statistics predict that the digital content market will grow into an increasingly high value-added market. In line with these changes, the issue of digital content distribution has also become important. Currently, the digital content distribution system consists of an unreasonable structure for copyright holders, but there are no other improvements, and piracy is rampant. In this study, digital content distribution system using blockchain was studied as an improvement method to solve these problems. Blockchain is a new technology that ensures reliability and transparency, and smart contract, an electronic contract system that incorporates these advantages, is a key technology in this study. Based on Etherium Blockchain, the study included information related to digital content copyrights in smart contracts through the Solidity Development Language and Remix IDE Development Environment. This smart contract was tested to distribute over blockchain through the Metamask Browser to identify the potential for a new digital content distribution system. Since the study of blockchain systems is still in its infancy, it is too early to apply them to our daily lives. In addition, to apply the results of this study to existing digital content distribution systems, the relevant legislation on the content distribution market remains to be revised first.
