Influence of Dance Exercise Program upon Basic Physical Fitness, Bone Dencity, and Aging-Related Hormone in Elderly Women

초록/요약 도움말

This study carries out the dance exercise program for 24 weeks twice a week with 1 day in 90 minutes targeting elderly women who are physically vulnerable due to aging, and then considers its influence upon a change in body composition, basic physical fitness, bone density and aging-related hormone before and after carrying out exercise program. Thus, the aim is to offer scientific data in the disease prevention and prognostic evaluation that can occur due to aging. The results of this study are as follows. 1. IN case of body composition Weight had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly decreased to 59.15±5.32kg after exercise from 60.77±5.62kg before exercise(p<.01) The % body fat had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly decreased to 31.05±3.00% after exercise from 35.83±.35% before exercise(p<.01). The body fat mass had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly decreased to 18.58±2.74kg fater exercise from 22.13±2.70kg before exercise(p<.01). BMI(body mass index) had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise had no significant difference with 25.71±1.81kg/m² before exeercise and 25.42±1.72kg/m² after exercise. 2. IN case of basic physical fitness Grip strength had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly increased to 23.66±3.11kg after exercise from 17.80±3.99kg before exercise(p<.05). Flexibility had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. THe group with exercise significantly increased to 15.68±3.83cm after exercise from 10.76±2.58cm before exercise(p<.001). Balance had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly increased to 6.60±2.76sec after exercise from 3.43±1.96sec before exercise(p<.01). 3. IN case of bone density Bone density had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly increased to -1.93±.43 after exercise from -2.52±.28 before exercise(p<.01). 4. IN case of aging-related hormone Growth hormone had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly increased to 1.52±.24ng/ml after exercise from .88±.17ng/ml before exercise(p<.01). Estrogen had no significant difference before and after in case of control group. The group with exercise significantly increased to 115.20±9.85pg.ml after exercise from 102.03±3.04pg/ml before exercise(p<.01). Melatonin had no sighificant difference before and after in case of control group. Even the group with exercise had no significant difference with 9.86±6.09pg/ml before exercise and 8.85±1.14pg/ml after exercise. Given synthesizing the above conclusions, the dance exercise program can be known to reduce weight, body fat mass, and % body fat out of body composition in elderly women, to increase muscular strength, flexibility, and balance, which are included in basic physical fitness, and to have positive influence upon a change in growth hormone and estrogen, which are aging-related hormones. Accordingly, given regularly continuing dance exercise program, it can be said to be effective exercise for preventing and curing diseases such as osteoporosis, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia caused by obesity and aging-related to hormone in elderly women. Also, it can be said to be positive even in side effect caused by drug use or in cost reduction, as the cure or complimentary therapy in the medical aspect due to the lack of aning-related hormone. In other words, the exercise proper for physical fitness of elderly women is thought to be likely to prevent aging-related disease and to enhance quality of life in elderly women. Accordingly, it is though to be likely to be necessarily performed a general research on the exercise participation and aging-related hormone as for several variables such as gender, living environment, and habit in diverse aspects, and an additionally scientific research on health maintenance and promotion in elderly women.
