초록/요약
Year after Year, Korean education system for high schools is managed by a tough structure in the frame of only for the entrance examination. Currently, by the condition of the schools, it tends to reduce the education of basic abilities contained in the text books among a lot of abilities which human should learn in their lives, or secondary subjects besides principal subjects. Especially, the position of music subject is getting narrow to null curriculum or optional curriculum for Art, Music and Physical education. In the ancient Greece, music was very intelligent and necessary subject, and considered as one of the primary subjects with philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy. However nowadays, it is a very miserable condition that music is treated as an entertainment or just a part of curriculum, and squeezed out of the education. Today, music education is neglected by the formal framework of school education, and accordingly teenagers lose their opportunities to express emotions. In current society, it is considered that music cannot bring over special existence reason besides it cultivates culture and circulate emotion. However, a study, so called “Music”, is not just for listening and enjoying it, but it has a practical faculty for modern society. It is traditionally said that listening to music improves the ability of brain. No one can show such practical faculty just bylistening in the world. With the effects and positive abilities of Mozart music, the researcher was interested in whether music brings practical and effective influence on the study abilities for teenagers. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to verify the assumption that Mozart music positively influences on the study ability with the representative subject, mathematics, which requires various brain capacities, such as concentrating power, reasoning power, operating power, and thinking power. In order to verify the effect of Mozart music on the study achievement regarding mathematics subject of the fresh man in the high school, experiment group and comparison group were determined. For the experiment group, first, they listened to the quick tempo Mozart music and took a class. After the class, students took a formative evaluation. On the other hand, for the comparison group, they just took the same class but without any treatment of music, and then took a formative evaluation. Questions for both groups were same. Finally, the achievements in mathematics for both groups were compared and verified, and an analysis was conducted to find meaningful variables. After 1-3 times of tests for the experiment group that have listened to music and for the other comparison group which have not listened to music, comprehensive T-test was conducted to find out whether the first group got higher study achievements on mathematics. As the result of the examination, since there was a meaningful differences between two groups with P-value, 0.024(p > 0.05), it is convinced that the group listened music (experiment group) got little bit higher scores than the other group (comparison group). In other word, as the result of the test, it is considered that listening to music positively influences the study abilities. As the science and civilization develops, the relationship between music and intelligence is well-known to everybody, and the cases using such theories for commercial purpose is increasing. However, it is required to remind that the interest for music should not be just for developing mental abilities as I mentioned above. But it is needed to remember that, with focusing on the fundamental capability of Music, several times of music classes in a week provides important chances to relax emotion for teenagers who are neglected by increasingly harsh educational environments.
