주제와 통합된 Dalcroze 유리드믹스 음악활동이 유아의 음악능력과 창의성에 미치는 효과

The Effects of Dalcroze Eurhythmics Musical Activity integrated with themes on Musical Ability and Creativity of Early Children

초록/요약

The purpose of this study is to develop the Dalcroze Eurhythmics musical activities integrated with themes. After testing to 5-year-old child, we could see how this development effected to children’s music ability and creativity, and also could see the possibility to the field of early childhood education. I studied following issues. First, How the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes effect to children’s music ability? Second, How the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes effect to children’s creativity? To develop the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes, I referred to the relevant literature, and I tried to introduce the Dalcroze Eurhythmics activities related on child-care center’s themes.Testing the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes were studied by myself, and the period of examining the test was from June 12th 2008 to July 24 2008. It had 14 times of test. The children of the study were 40, 5-year-old children at ‘M child-care center’ and ‘P child-care center’ located in ‘S city’, and I tested the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes to testing group and also tested just music activities with themes to comparison group. The activities were occurred during the free choice activity time, and large and small group activity time in the child-care center. To verify the educational effects of the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes, I tested music ability and creativity to children, used SPSS 14.0 statistic program, and analyzed the average and the standard deviation about the growth of the two group’s before and after testing with the ‘t-test’. The testing results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the children who attended the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes have higher music ability than comparison group. Especially, the sub-category of music ability such as listening, expressing rhythm, sing a song, playing instrument, musical creativity was higher than the other. This result shows that the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes affected the music ability such as listening, expressing rhythm, sing a song, playing instrument, musical creativity Second, the children who attended the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes have higher creativity than comparison group. Also the sub-category of creativity such as fluency, flexibility,originality, imagination was higher than the comparison group. This result shows the Dalcroze Eurhythmics music activities integrated with themes affected the creativity such as fluency, flexibility, originality, imagination. Third, while the music activities were in progress, the testing group children’s reaction was not active at first, but they had changed gradually to active and enjoyable. The change of attitude had not only given them the power of expression, but the self-confidence. This self-confidence about music reflected to children’s attitude. Besides, the children expressed the music by their body, and made the movement with subject followed by rhythm. So then the children who were not reacting much previously attended these activities positively, and they made the various types of creative expression. Also we could say that the process of making concrete sound, and body expression from thoughts in mind through imagination made them the power of active expression. They also improved the ability of drawing sounds by listening music, and they showed the happiness of attending music activities by humming a song after finishing the class. Through the study, I recognized that it is more useful to unify the music concept, which is considered as important key point of music ability, and the contents of music activities with real life themes to improve the children’s music ability and creativity. Also the teaching method of letting research and move themselves are more useful rather than teaching the activity-centered music education such as singing a real life subjected song, playing an instrument, and listening music, or teaching without relation with theme when we teach the music concept focusing on special music program.
