초등 및 중·고등 여학생의 휴식대사량 측정 및 예측공식의 타당도 분석

Measurement of Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and Assessment of Prediction Equations for RMR in Female Elementary, Middle and High School

초록/요약

In this study, the body height, the body weight, the branchial circumference, the body fat, the muscle mass and the resting metabolic rate(RMR) of 74 girls who lived in Gangwon-do were measured. these 74 girls were divided into 24 girls in elementary school, 30 girls in middle school and 20 girls in high school. In addition, the calculated RMR from various predictive equations including Harris-Benedict equation, Schofeld-W equation, FAO/ WHO/UNU-W equation, FAO/WHO/UNU-WH equation, Cunningham equation, Owen equation, Mifflin equation, Liu equation, DRI equation, Kim - W equation and Kim-WH equation were compared to the measured RMR of 74 girls. And we assessed the validity of these predictive equations applying to predict reasonable RMR values. RMR was the higher from elementary school to high school students and RMR/body weight, RMR/body fat and RMR/muscle mass was the lower. In comparison to measured and predicted RMR in elementary, middle and high school students, RMR estimated using the equation suggested from Owen had the highest RMR validity. In elementary school students RMR estimated using the Harris-Benedict and DRI equation had the highest validity. And In middle school students, RMR calculated using the Owen equation had the highest validity. In high school students, RMR estimated using the equation suggested from Kim-WH had the highest validity. We can see, it was confirmed that estimating elementary, middle and high school students' RMR, RMR estimation calculated using the Schofield-W, Owen and Kim-WH equation, that estimating over weight group' RMR, RMR estimation calculated using the Owen, FAO/WHO/UNU-WH and Mifflin equation had the highest validity. Through this study we can see, it was confirmed that estimating normal weight group' RMR and overweight group' RMR, RMR estimated using the Owen equation had the highest validity. Therefore, more works should be done for measuring RMR and developing estimated equation from large sample.
