This study was performed to investigate that the effects of contextual interference on motor learning. For this study, the 13~14 years girls student with righthand dominance classified into low level of contextual interference group(n=20), high level of contextual interference group(n=20) and control group(n=20). The experimental task was a linear positioning task using linear movement device. The subjects were allowed to perform 90 trials from distances of 30, 60 and 90 cm and 10 minutes later, their retention test was checked. The blocked condition practiced all trials from specific distances before the next distance was introduced. The random condition was practiced in a random sequence to ensure that no more than two trials from a distance were performed in succession. The dependent variable was the absolute errors in all phase. The results of this study were as follows : First, there was a significant difference between the high level of contextual interference group and low level of contextual interference group on the motor skill phase. Second, there was a significant difference the high level of contextual interference group in comparison with the control group on the motor skill phase. Third, there was a significant difference the low level of contextual interference group in comparison with the control group on the motor skill phase. Fourth, there was a significant difference between the high level of contextual interference group and low level of contextual interference group on the motor learning phase. Fifth, there was a significant difference between the high level of contextual interference group and low level of contextual interference group on the motor learning phase. Sixth, there was a significant difference between the low level of contextual interference group in comparison with control group on the motor learning phase. In conclusion, the results show that practicing with randomization of parameter modification in the same generalized motor program is beneficial for motor learning.
