초록/요약
산업 혁명 이후 현대 산업사회에 이르면서 인류는 많은 발전을 이루고 있으며점점 빠른 속도로 진보하고 있다. 이러한 산업 사회의 발전에 발맞추어 많은 작가들 역시 새롭고 다양한 시각 체험을 경험함으로써 작가들의 조형 의욕을 자극하였으며, 고전 미술에서 찾아 볼수 있었던 고유한 개념들을 탈피하여 획기적이고 다양한 표현 방식을 보여줌으로써 새로운 미술 장르를 개척하였다. 그로 인해산업 사회의 발전과 더불어 현대 조각의 발전도 이루어지게 되었다. 산업 사회의 발전으로 인류는 질 좋은 생활을 영위하는 혜택을 누리는 점과 유사하게 조형작가들 역시 보다 창조적이고, 다양한 조형 작업들을 할 수 있게끔장을 열게 해주었고 그로 인해 미술의 많은 발전이 이루어 졌다. 하지만 산업 사회의 발전으로 인해 야기되던 부작용 중에서, 산업 사회의 폐기물들로 인해 환경파괴 현상이 세계적 문제로 심각하게 대두되었다. 이러한 문제에 직면하면서 미술이라는 영역 속에 폐품에 관한 주제가 자연스럽게 수면 위로 떠오르게 되었고산업 폐품을 이용하여 조형적으로 변용하는 작업은, 예찬되었던 산업 사회에 대한모습을 부정적 시각으로 전환 할 수 있게끔 해주었다. 이러한 사회적 흐름 속에서 산업 폐품을 이용한 조형 작업이 무슨 의미를 지니고 있는지 찾아 볼 수 있고 조형 미술이 가지고 있는 무한한 가능성을 엿 볼 수있겠다. 또한 재료적인 측면으로 접근할 경우 대리석, 브론즈, 나무, 등 과 같은전통적 재료를 인위적으로 가공하여 작가의 감성을 작품으로 표현하는 것과 달리,폐품과 고철은 일반인들이 사용하고 그로인해 생긴 고정된 의미를 작가의 섬세한조형 작업을 통해 더 이상 쓸모없는 폐품과 고철에게 새로운 의미를 부여한다는점에서 재료 사용의 확대 그 이상에 의미를 둔다고 할 수 있겠다. 또한 서로 다른폐품과 고철이라는 오브제에서 나오는 다양한 작가들의 작품과 그 안에 담아있는의미를 분석하여 특징과 앞으로 나아가야 할 방향을 가늠해보고 문제점을 검토하겠다. 산업 혁명이라는 인류의 획기적인 전환점을 겪으면서 대두되었던 강한 긍정과예찬이 조형예술이라는 영역 안에서 이 흐름이 계속 될 것인지에 대한 의문을제기한다. 이러한 검토를위해 배경이 되는 사회적 흐름과 현대적 흐름을 파악하고. 대표적 작가의 행보를 알아보고,작품을 분석하여 그 특성과 가능성을 검토하여 결론에 이르고자 한다.

Ever since the Industrial Revolution, while modern industrial society arrived, mankind is accomplishing much development and is improving more and more a pace. As being keep pace with industrial society, with many artists went though various visual sensation experience, stimulated artist's modeling volition and with being been seen various experience form as being grew out of proper a notion seen at classic art, many artists reclaimed an art genre. so development of modern sculpture was accomplished with development of industrial revolution. Because of development of industrial revolution, mankind is blessed with benefit that manage better life. Similarly development of industrial was given modeling artists that was creative and was able to work, so art has been extended. But one of a harmful effect with waste, environmental issues came up with global matter seriously. While this matter faced with, the theme about waste came up the surface and variation work used industrial waste was switched from negative vision to looks about industrial society that have worship. According to social flowing, modeling works used industrial waste find infinity possibilities plastic arts have, that have what kinds of mean. and as becoming intimate with the material side, useless articles and scrap iron imply more mean that magnify. To being analyzed various artists' work and mean that come into object, I can walk out direction advancing. Though mankind suffered the Industrial Revolution, epochal turning point, I raise a questions that have a streak of flowing in art area. To investigation, I get a grip on social and modern flowing that become a background and check typical artists' walking and analysis works of art. So I check up so a special feature and possibility that conclude.
