초록/요약
The initial carious lesion which is limited to enamel is possible to remineralization through the improvement of oral hygiene or the fluoride application. So it makes to be possible intercepting the process of clinicopathologic as well as recovering it again. Fluoride varnish is one of the methods in topical fluoride application, it make fluoride contact of high concentration with tooth enamel for a long time. In this study, 60 teeth were formed of artificial initial caries in tooth enamel. After that it was divided into three groups. Group 1 and Group 2, for each groups, were applied fluoride varnish and remineralized in artificial saliva for 1 and 2 weeks. Group 3 was control group and it was stored in artificial saliva for 2 weeks. Changes in mineral contents were analysed with confocal laser scanning microscope. The results were as follow 1. Experimental groups, total fluorescence of the lesion was significantly more reduced in fluoride varnish application area than demineralization area(p<0.05). 2. Group 2 was significantly more reduced than group 1 at total fluorescence of the lesion in fluoride varnish application area(p<0.05). 3. Group 2 was significantly more reduced than control group at total fluorescence of the lesion in fluoride varnish application area(p<0.05). 4. Confocal laser scanning microscope can be used in quantitative analysis of remineralization through fluoride varnish.
