초록/요약
본 연구의 목적은 현대장신구에서 조형적 특성이 새로운 개념으로 작용함에 따라 우리나라 전통 문화요소 가운데 조선시대 여성장신구를 살펴보고, 한국 고유문화의 우수성과 조형성을 새로운 조형적 특성의 구조로 재해석 하는데 있다. 예로부터 우리민족은 아름다움을 추구하고 즐기려는 욕망이 매우 강하고 미를 사랑하는 민족이었다. 또한 개성이 뚜렷하고 화려한 유형문화(有形文化)를 지니고 있다. 우리 민족의 장신구 문화 중 뛰어난 세공기술과 디자인 능력은 화려한 장신구 역사를 이루었다. 장신구의 전통문양과 조형미를 살펴본바 우리 민족의 정서가 표현된 미술이라 할 수 있으며, 생활미술의 한 부분으로서 우리의 독창적인 문화의 하나로 발전시켜온 전통 문화임을 알 수 있다. 전통은 우리 생활에서 만들어지는 것이며 우리가 살아가는 모든 것이 전통이 되는 것이다. 그러므로 시대의 흐름에 맞는 한국적인 전통을 만들어 내는 일은 현재의 문화를 이루어가고 있는 우리의 몫인 것이다. 최근에는 트렌드를 접목한 전통주얼리가 현대의상과 새롭게 조화를 이루고 있으며, 가치관의 변화로 소비자들이 자신을 표현하는데 적극적이고, 독특한을 지닌 전통장신구를 선호하는 경향이 더욱 뚜렷해지고 있다. 소재 면에서도 전통장신구의 주종을 이루던 옥과 비취, 산호, 호박 등의 보석에서 탈피하여 다양한 준보석을 이용한 전통 장신구가 재조명되고 있다. 이렇듯 고유의 전통문화에 대한 깊은 관심과 함께 한국적인 아름다움의 가치를 현대적 패션과 트렌드를 가미하여 저변확대에 힘쓴다면 우리민족의 슬기와 창의성을 세계만방에 알릴 수있는 계기가 될 것이다. 이러한 사실에 의거하여 본 연구는 전통문화에 대한 관심이 높아져가는 시점에서 전통 장신구의 고찰을 통한 현대장신구 디자인에 적용 될 수 있는 전통색채와 전통문양의 응용가능성을 기술하였다. 한국 전통장신구에 관한 고찰에서는 우리민족의 장신구 문화의 전체적인 흐름과, 조선시대 장신구를 중심으로 장신구의 색채 및 문양이 상징하는 의미에 대해 알아보았다. 이를 통하여 전통문화의 계승 발전과 재해석과정을 통하여 현대적 장신구로 접목하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 한국의 전통 미의식과 정신적 염원이 담긴 전통장신구의 조형적 특성과 기능성, 상징적 의미를 고찰하고 연구작품을 통해 우리 전통 문화예술의 우수성과 미적 가치를 재인식 할 수 있는 계기를 마련하며, 나아가 오늘날 우리에게 장신구 조형에 관한 미의식과 이상을 높이고 풍부한 감각과 창조력을 기르는데 도움이 되고자 하였다.

With formative features exerting an influence as new concepts of modern jewelry, this study examined female jewelry from the Joseon dynasty among elements of traditional Korean culture in order to reinterpret the superiority and formativeness of traditional Korean culture into new formative features. From ancient times, the Koreans have had a strong desire to pursue and enjoy beauty. In addition, they have developed distinctive and splendid tangible culture. With regard to Korean jewelry culture, jewelry artisans' outstanding craft and design skills became the basis for splendid jewelry history. Traditional patterns on jewelry and formative beauty of them indicates jewelry are a sort of art that expresses Korean sentiments and that as part of living art they have developed as one of distinctive cultural elements. Tradition is being created in people's lives. This means the way people live becomes tradition. Therefore, people today who are creating current culture hold responsibility for establishing unique Korean tradition that reflects changing times. Recently, traditional jewelry that reflected current trends are being matched with modern clothes. Due to the changes in people's values, a growing number of consumers willingly express themselves and end to prefer traditional jewelry with unique beauty. With respect to jewelry materials, a variety of quasi jewelries are increasingly being used as the material instead of jade, coral, and amber that constituted the major materials in the past. Likewise, with substantial interest in traditional culture if Koreans combine tradition beauty with modern fashion and trends, it will generate a good opportunity to make the world acquainted with the wisdom and creativity of the Koreans. Based on this, the study described the possibility of applying traditional colors and patterns to modern jewelry designs amid growing attention to traditional culture. With regard to the examination of traditional Korean Jewelry, the study looked into the entire history of Korean jewelry culture and the symbolic meanings of colors and patterns on jewelry mostly from the Joseon dynasty. Then, through the reinterpretation and development of traditional culture, modern jewelry reflecting traditional Korean beauty were created. In conclusion, the study provided an opportunity to examine formative features, function and symbolic meanings of traditional jewelry that have traditional sense of beauty and Korean people's desire and to recognize the superiority and beauty values of traditional cultural art. Furthermore, it tried to help people to improve their sense of beauty on jewelry and to enhance creativity.
