단청의 금문(錦紋)을 응용한 도자벽화에 관한 연구

초록/요약
인간은 아름답고 쾌적한 삶을 영위하기 위해 끊임없이 노력한다. 이러한 욕구를 충족시키기 위해 현재의 환경을 보다 나은 환경으로 개선하고 한 층 더 업그레이드 된 삶의 질에 힘쓰고 있다. 그 중 하나로 환경도예의 일환인 도자벽화는 인간의 삶 속에서 표현되는 도예 중에서 교육성과 대중성을 지니며, 주변 환경에 부착 또는 고정된 조형물로서 그 시대의 생활상을 가장 잘 표현할 수 있는 역사성을 내포하고 있는 도예이다. 인간생활에서의 기본요소는 의(衣), 식(食), 주(住)라고 한다. 그 중 ‘주(住)’ 부분에서 한국의 전통가옥에서 필수로 표현되는 건축양식의 하나인 단청(丹靑)은 2천년 한국의 역사 속에서 고분, 공예품, 건축물 등에 다양하게 그려졌으며 회화와 함께 시대적 변천과정을 거치며 예술적 창조력을 발휘해 왔다. 본 연구에서는 단청(丹靑)의 금문(錦紋)에 나타난 문양을 모티브로 하여 평면적인 요소들로 구성된 디자인을 입체화시킨 후 다시 각 문양들을 세분화하여 한 개의 유닛(unit)을 형성하고, 이 유닛(unit)을 중심으로 간결하면서도 다양한 연속적인 패턴으로 새로운 분위기를 창출하여 내벽 또는 외벽 장식에 맞게 재연출한 도벽작품을 중점으로 하고 있다. 단청문양 도벽작품은 대중적인 조형감각에 맞추어 표현하는데 주력하였다, 또한 단청에 나타난 원형, 삼각형, 사각형, 기하학적 문양을 기본 소재로 하여 견고한 유닛형성으로 예술적 가치를 부여하였으며, 실내외 벽의 한부분 또는 전체로도 활용할 수도 있고, 인테리어 소품으로 활용할 수 있는 장식미도 가미하였다. 또한 환경문제를 포함하여 도자벽화를 연구할경우 그 영역의 확대는 물론 앞으로 더욱더 체계화된 면모를 갖출 수 있게 될 것이다. 본문은 크게 2장으로 구성되어 있다. 1장에서는 단청문양(丹靑紋樣)이 가지는 의미와 단청(丹靑)의 구성요소와 종류에 대해 서술하여 일반적인 이론을 고찰하였다. 2장에서는 단청(丹靑)의 금문(錦紋)을 입체화 하여 유닛(unit)구성 중심으로 이루어진 디자인 계획을 컴퓨터그래픽(Computer Graphic) 작업을 통해 응용 배치 시켰으며, 성형방법, 시유 및 소성이 포함된 전반적인제작과정과 단청문양 도벽작품에 응용한 시작품사진과 제작의도를 서술하였다.

Human beings continuously try to maintain beautiful and pleasant life. To meet such needs, they try to improve current environment to better one, to ensure upgraded life quality. As one of such means, the ceramic walls have has the popularity as the attached or fixed formative art to the surrounding environment, containing the historical properties that may well express the life in the times. The basic elements of the human life needs are food, clothing and shelter. In the 'shelter' elements, Dancheong(丹靑) especially as the Korean traditional essential architecture style, has been variously applied to the ancient tombs, objects of craft works and architecture, exhibiting artistic creativity through the timely changes like the paintings. This study focuses on the ceramic designs composed of 2-D elements into 3-D with the motives of the patterns shown in Geummoon of Dancheong, then by subdividing each pattern again into one unit that has simple and various serial patterns to create new mood appropriate to such walls. In addition, Dancheong-pattern ceramic wall works focus on the popular formative arts to express. With the circles, triangles, squares and other geometric patterns, the solid and sound units are formed to add the artistic value, which are applied to all or some parts of the interior and exterior walls, adding the decorative beautifulness. In addition, considering the environment-friendly ceramic walls, the extended application areas will took on more systemic aspects in the future. The body of this paper is largely composed of two chapters. In Chapter 1, this paper examines the general theory by examining on the meaning of Dancheong patterns and describing the their elements and types. In Chapter 2, by making Geummon of Dancheong into 3D, the design planning mainly composed of units will be applied and placed through the computer graphic works, and then the entire manufacturing process including the molding method, glaze and plasticity are to be explained along with the photos of proto-type applied to Dancheong pattern-ceramic wall works and their making intentions.
