초록/요약
텍스타일 디자인은 미술의 한 분야이기에 앞서 우리나라 국가경제 발전과정에서 중추적인 역할을 담당해왔던 섬유산업의 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 초등학교에서 수업으로 이루어지고 있는 텍스타일 디자인 교육은 학생들에게 실생활 속에서 미술의 생활화에 기여하고 자신의 정서를 표출하고 미적 감각을 발달시키는데 궁극적 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 학교 현장에서 교사의 전공과 회화 중심의 미술 수업으로 인한 일부 영역의 편협적인 지도와 미술 실기에 적합하지 못한 학교 교육환경 등으로 텍스타일 디자인 교육이 제대로 이루어지지 못하는 점을 해결하고 초등학교 미술 교육에서의 다양한 재료와 표현 기법 사용을 활성화하고자 텍스타일기법 지도 방안을 알아보았다. 또한 미술 교과의 창조적 표현 활동을 위해 텍스타일디자인이 기여하는 바를 조형적 표현 방향으로 찾아내고 학교 수업 시간에 활용될 텍스타일 재료와 기법을 실제 지도 과정에 함께 제시하였다. 작품 제작에 있어서는 텍스타일 기법 중 염색, 직조, 퀼트, 펠트 등을 초등 미술교육에 응용하고자 접근이 용이한 나무 조각, 철사, 조개 등 자연재료를 함께 사용하는 기법 등을 접목함으로써 초등미술 문화에 대한 정체성을 확립하고자 의도함으로써 텍스타일 기법에 관한 교육이 아동기에 다양한 조작활동의 기회를 제공할 수 있었으며, 이러한 과정은 인지발달과 창의성을 높여주어 예술과 실생활의 연관성을 갖게 하였으며 표현력 신장의 계기가 되었다.

Textile design, not only as a field of art, has also played an important role in the textile industry leading our economy development. The main goal of textile design class in elementary school is to make students apply textile techniques to their real life, express their emotions and improve their aesthetic sense. This study had an effort to solve the problems in class where the education of textile design has not been performed properly - for example, the lack of art teaching methods due to teachers' definite major and painting-centered art class, and the poor educational environment in school. So, the teaching methods of textile art were designed to use a variety of art materials and techniques for art classes in elementary school. Also, these skills were applied to the real art class with the textile art materials, including the existing teaching process. The contribution of textile design education to the art textbook was found to make the activities of art class more creative toward the plastic expression. The textile work was made of nature materials like wood pieces, wire, shells etc. available to the actual art class by combining the existing elementary art education and some famous textile techniques such as quilting, pelting, dying and so on. This attempt was made to establish the identity on the culture of elementary art education and to make students in the childhood join the various operational activities. This course resulted in the cognitive development and high creativity as well as the improvement of expression skills by applying to real lives.
